The Pope & some Jager …68/365

It was my best friend’s birthday tonight and she decided she wanted to celebrate at Bucca di Beppos. If you’ve never been, it’s a funky family Italian style restaurant, where sharing is encouraged, and they even have tables in the kitchen (we had too many in our party or else I think we would have sat there).

We ended up sitting at the pope table, called that for obvious reasons, and of course being the blasphemers that we are, ended up taking ‘all kinds’ of photos. Even the poor lil waiter was pulled into our shenanigans. I think he got in trouble with his manager too- oops! Oh well, it was a great time and a good way to celebrate Mareike’s 31st birthday. Happy Birthday Mareike!

Risky Business …67/365

So, I bought a house when I was 22. Renovated until I was 23. Lived in it when I was 24 and moved out at 25. I rent it out now, which is to say the least, a pain in the butt. I think the only pleasure I derive in owning my old historic home is when it’s vacant, I get to run around and slide on the wood floors like a little kid… oh yea, and take pictures while doing so. Oh Yea, Risky Business.

Back in the game …66/365

Today was such a glorious day! I was sooo excited to get back into the swing of things. I went to Yoga this morning and ended it with a nice short jog. I haven’t been able to run for a few weeks, and then I got sick, so needless to say I was feeling a bit antsy.

I usually run around Lake Eola a few times and then head back to the gym, but it seemed today was the day to stay out and enjoy the weather, so after my jog I decided to stroll around the park with everyone else. I hit up the Sunday Farmer’s market and conducted some people watching activities. I couldn’t believe how many dogs were around. It really was quite an enjoyable day, and I’m very happy to get back in the game after these last few weeks!

Swing and a miss …65/365

It was an absolutely gorgeous day on Saturday! Perfect for some BBQ, beer, and softball practice with the team.

Here’s Ray practicing his batting. Unfortunately out of the 100+ pictures I got, there was only 1 of him hitting the ball. Oh well, that’s what practice is for right? :)

Fun at the Fair …64/365

I was driving down highway 50 when I noticed the fair was in town. I thought it would be a great opportunity to get some cliche ferris wheel and nighttime light shots. I got there pretty late, around 10pm, and the lady looked at me with her crazy eye and was like “Wha? You wanna pay to get in to take pictures for an hour? OK (ok as in it’s your money not mine…)”

It was pretty cold for Florida in March, and my hands were going numb. I decided, what better to warm them up then with a nice fried fair delicacy. Oh man was that funnel cake delish!!

Whoops, I’m still trying to get the powdered sugar off my camera…

Minor Surgery …63/365

My camera has been out of slight commission for a couple of days. We had a little “incident” with the tripod (that needs to be serviced) and I had to perform minor surgery on it. But the good news is, the patient is out of recovery and doing well :D

I <3 Burritos

Really! So one of my favorite places to eat at, of course, is this shop call Tijuana Flats. They’re known for one of their famous hot sauces called Smack My Ass and Call Me Sally. What I love about the shop, aside from the awesome burritos and their Taco Tuesdaze, is the atmosphere. There’s artwork and funky sayings all over the place. The ceiling tiles are also adorned by art work and 3D renderings. So today I got some funny looks as I wandered around the shop snapping up pics. My fave part of the store is their Hot Bar, with what must be over 20 different types of hot sauces…

The Sweater …61/365

I went over to my mom’s house tonight to pick up the usual pile of mail sitting in it’s normal location. On the bottom of a pile was a ragged looking, what I believed to be a mop, but to which I was later informed was a sweater.

My mom wanted to know, if I would hold onto it for her, because she didn’t think she would be able to fit into it anytime soon, and since I lost weight, I could actually wear it. I don’t know how I’m going to have the heart to tell her, I’m pretty sure this sweater isn’t flattering on any size….

Glitter in the Air …59/365

Today I woke up, and like a miracle, the fog had lifted and I was feeling excited, hyper, super silly and happy all at once. My head was going wild with all these ideas that had been trapped for weeks, waiting to get out! I was soooo happy to FINALLY start feeling better and on top of it all, it was a GLORIOUSLY BEAUTIFUL day! I hopped in my car and decided to drive, not really having any plans of where I wanted to go. I turned on the radio and flicked around stations until something semi decent came on. It was a new song, which I really didn’t prefer the tune of, but the lyrics were cute and it made me wonder:

_________________________________________________________

Have you ever fed a lover with just your hands?
Close your eyes and trust it, just trust it
Have you ever thrown a fist full of glitter in the air?
Have you ever looked fear in the face
And said I just don’t care

It’s only half past the point of no return
The tip of the ice burg
The sun before the burn
The thunder before lightning
The breathe before the fraze
Have you ever felt this way?

Have you ever hated yourself for staring at the phone?
You’re whole life waiting on the ring to prove you’re not alone
Have you ever been touch so gently you had to cry?
Have you ever invited a stranger to come inside?

It’s only half past the point of oblivion
The hourglass on the table
The walk before the run
The breathe before the kiss
And the fear before the flames
Have you ever felt this way?

There you are, sitting in the garden
Clutching my coffee,
Calling me sugar
You called me sugar

Have you ever wished for an endless night?
Lassoed the moon and the stars and pulled that rope tight
Have you ever held your breathe and asked yourself will it ever get better than tonight?
Tonight…

I kept thinking how I was going to capture a fistful of glitter in the air…

and then I KNEW how MY glitter would be…
