Beefy King …183/365

We went to Beefy King for lunch today. With probably the best roast beef sandwiches in Orlando, and tasty tots, Beefy King has been a landmark in the area since 1967.
This is the machine they use to cut their fresh sandwich meats. On the other side is a cutout in the table that shoots steam. This little square piece is the only place they make sandwiches on. It’s neat to watch. They then slop all the excess bits up with the other side of the bun and *SLAP* it together for a tasty treat!
Gatorland Throwback …176/365

The assignment was to recreate a photo I had of myself when I was younger. The hardest part? Trying to stand in an area that was waaaaayyyy too small for me. It looked so easy when I was under 3 feet tall, who would’ve thunk it? And here’s me, 20 years earlier:

I couldn’t have planned this picture better myself. Sometimes things just line up… Infer at your own risk

We went to Orlando Brewing after work today. My favorite beverage from there is the pompous ass. It’s a delightful IPA, the hoppiest brew they have in house I believe? (I could be mistaken though) Orlando Brewing is pretty neat- it is the only certified organic brewery in Florida. They do tours at 6pm on most days if anyone’s intertested and wants to stop by.
Corporate 5k …105/365

Tonight I participated in the IOA Corporate 5k in Downtown Orlando. There was an ASTOUNDING 13,000 runners there. I’ve never run with that many people before. It seemed like a never ending starting line, so I jumped the gates and sandwiched in the middle, still waiting about 5 minutes just to get to a slow jog.
After this experience I just want to go over a few rules and protocols for all race participants that should be followed strictly in the future (especially when I’m running near you):
- If you’re not jogging, move yourself to the back
- Do not run/walk with a side by side entourage so no one can pass
- PLEASE no farting! Take care of that beforehand…
- Look before you spit
- Look before you decide to cross an entire jogging path
- Do not stop abruptly
- Do not throw a full water cup on the ground in front of someone (it splashes up)
- Just try and be aware
I finished in about 31 minutes, which is a little slow, but I think it’s because of the crowd. The good news? The refreshments were ready for us as we crossed the finish line: water, bananas, and BEER!

I <3 Burritos
Really! So one of my favorite places to eat at, of course, is this shop call Tijuana Flats. They’re known for one of their famous hot sauces called Smack My Ass and Call Me Sally. What I love about the shop, aside from the awesome burritos and their Taco Tuesdaze, is the atmosphere. There’s artwork and funky sayings all over the place. The ceiling tiles are also adorned by art work and 3D renderings. So today I got some funny looks as I wandered around the shop snapping up pics. My fave part of the store is their Hot Bar, with what must be over 20 different types of hot sauces…

I took this picture before at night, and I liked it, but I felt like it was missing something. Maybe lack of Florida, or that certain UMPH, whatever that might be. So here’s take number 2, South Downtown Orlando through my technicolored glasses…

So I’m told that it is still winter? Who would’ve known with temps like these? I put my best snow shoes on took a little walk. Florida snow shoes, a little different than others…
Florida Hospital… 35/365

Tonight my sinuses and their friend the headache decided that the picture would not involve my lovable mug in it. Instead, as I was driving to softball I looked over and noticed the new edition to Florida Hospital, and it really is gorgeous. I went back after the game to see if I could get another night shot (I love my night shots). I also feel a little attached to the building since I work for Florida Hospital College’s online programs. [Shameless Plug in 5...4...3...2...1] BTW if you are an RN, Ultrasound Technician or Radiographer and want your bachelors degree –ONLINE– you might wanna check it out: www.onlinenursing.fhchs.edu or www.onlineimaging.fhchs.edu
Orlando at Night… 3/365

I keep driving by this one spot in Downtown Orlando that I always think “hey, that would make a great picture”, but it is right off a highway offramp and well there is no way of easily getting there. So tonight I decided since it was cold and Sunday, that it would be pretty traffic free and that I would lug my stuff down and snap a few shots. Wow, now I know why the bums aren’t even out tonight because I froze my fingers off getting this shot. Hope yall like it:
Day 3
