I got in my car today and the temperature gauge said 110 degrees, and boy did it feel like it! For the 20 minutes I was driving, I couldn’t even get the car cool. I literally thought I was melting!

We went on an airboat ride in the everglades today. Although I’ve lived in FL for over 25 years, I never got to go on an airboat ride. I’ve always wanted to, and the time presented itself.
It was way better than I imagined, and we zoomed through small mangrove pathways at over 40 miles per hour. I also managed to obliterate a perfectly good jameson hat into a clean pulp. *Note to self, airboat motors are scary*
So these poor fellows were the result of gift shops gone wrong. Yup they were bred to be murdered and preserved for tourists of all ages to swoon over. But hey, I don’t protest it, I just put it out there for everyone to see…

Today was AMAZING! I decided to play hookie for a day, which means sleeping in, relaxing lunch by the water, and canoeing at Wekiwa Springs. Well, I didn’t do so much of the paddling since I had to take my photo of the day
The hubs unknowingly obliged to the brunt of the work (I would randomly stop paddling and pick up the camera, leaving him to steer us into nearby trees
All in all it was a gorgeous 69 degrees, sun shining, birds chirping and turtles sunbathing.
